The journey of MÜHLE's sustainable shaving products began in 2021 when they launched the first safety razor designed with the needs of all users in mind, regardless of gender. However, the roots of the brand go back to 1945 when Otto Johannes Müller founded the business after returning from the war. He started by creating the first shaving brushes and designing the iconic MÜHLE signet.

In 1965, the company was passed on to the new generation as Hans-Jürgen Müller took over, growing the business to 40 employees and exporting products to 36 countries. However, in 1972, under pressure from the German Democratic Republic, the company was expropriated, becoming a state-owned enterprise.

After being rebranded in 1987, Hans-Jürgen Müller continued to manufacture brushes solely for the state while also working as a self-employed brush maker. It wasn't until 1990, with the changing tides in Europe, that Hans-Jürgen Müller regained the family business and traded as Hans-Jürgen Müller KG, keeping the MÜHLE signet intact.

Throughout the years, MÜHLE faced challenges but kept moving forward. Celebrating 50 years in 1995, the company slowly regained its footing, gaining new customers and rehiring former employees. By 2006, they had expanded their offerings to a full range of wet shaving products, solidifying the MÜHLE brand in the industry.
